OUR LIONHEAD RABBITS

About the Breed

Lionhead rabbits are gaining popularity as pets across the nation because of their amazing temperaments. They are not only pleasant pet to spend time with, but pleasant to look at too. Lionhead rabbits are the perfect combination of playful and cuddly. In many ways, Lionhead rabbits are very similar to cats. They will enjoy multiple toys, lots of games of chase, and zipping around.

There are two main types of lionhead rabbits: single mane and double mane. The single mane is more wispy and thin. It covers their heads but can run down to their chests and rums. The double mane is thicker than the single mane and it typically looks more like a skirt around their flanks.

WHY ARE BUNNIES BENEFICIAL ON A HOMESTEAD?

The main reason we advocate for keeping bunnies on the homestead is because rabbits are like living compost machines. Their manure is great fertilizer for growing most anything. When compared to other manure, rabbit manure contains higher proportions of nitrogen. When applied fresh, it won’t burn plants or lawns. It even comes in a convenient round, dry form.

Join our Lionhead Waitlist...

We have very limited kitten availability, as we typically only  have one litter each, per year. There is a $10 non-refundable deposit required to join our waitlist. By joining our waitlist, you will get first notification when a new litter is born and first dibs on reserving a baby.

We handle the baby bunnies everyday and love them like our own.

They are ready for pickup at 8 weeks old; at this time these bunnies are well socialized and are conditioned to be comfortable around dogs, children, and other pets.

A lot of our bunnies do get reserved by those who are on our waitlist, but we do post the extra availability on our social media and website.

Our Lionhead bunnies are only available for Local Pickup on Long Island, NY.
