Ameraucanas are a true, purebred chicken breed that is known for laying blue eggs, as well as having a distinctive "muff" and "beard" around their faces. They come in a variety of colors, including self-blue, black, and several others. One of the biggest draws of Ameraucanas is their ability to lay pretty blue eggs. These chickens make an excellent addition to any flock focused on egg and or feather color diversity. Self-Blue or Black Ameraucanas provide the perfect balance of beauty, function, and personality. With their rare and striking color variations, they’re sure to become the highlight of your coop!
NOTE "Americana" is not the same thing as "Ameraucana". Americana refers to a hybrid bird which is a mix of various breeds. These hybrids may resemble Ameraucanas but can vary widely in terms of size, feather quality, and egg color. While they may still lay blue eggs, they do not have the consistent characteristics of purebred Ameraucanas.
